MSSC offers a variety of training opportunities for beginners and knowledgeable shooters alike. For dates and details, please check the club bulletin board or contact with the program leads:
Club Orientation for New Members:
This is given the 1st Sunday of every month. The class will go over club facilities, rules, opportunities to volunteer, and upcoming events. A tour of the facility and grounds will be given to complete the course.
Marksman Qualification and Youth Program:
Based upon the Winchester/NRA program, this is open to all members and guests. One can qualify for 6 levels of certification for pistol, rimfire rifle, shotgun skeet, shotgun trap, shotgun sporting clays (5 stand). Note: you must be a NRA member to track your certifications. This is done on the 3rd Saturday of each month starting in March.

This program is for the fairer sex. Starting in March and meeting the 4th Saturday of each month, Women-on-Target is based upon the NRA program of the same name.
Learn safe firearms handling and storage, how to shoot, and attendance makes women comfortable with various types of guns.

NRA Shooting Sports Camp:
Held every April, the Shooting Sports Camp is major event to teach youths how to handle guns safely.
Trained staff teach youths how to fire rifles, pistols, shotguns, and muzzle loaders in a safe environment.
At the same time parents are encouraged to participate with their children. Due to limited slots, it is encouraged that participants register early.

MSSC facilities are used to provide additional outside firearms training for members and non-members.
